SUMMERSIDE, PE – Tony Too Tall (Big Bad John) makes his first Atlantic Canadian appearance in the Tuesday evening (July 9) harness racing feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The eight-year-old has post 4 in the $3,500 featured pace, carded as race 12 on the 13-dash card. First race post time is 6 P.M.
Myles Heffernan Sr., has the catch driving call on Tony Too Tall for trainer Trevor Hicken and owner Perry Burke of Quebec. The winner of 32 races and $437,000 was racing the claiming ranks in Pennsylvania and New York for trainer Per Engblom before being purchased by Burke. The pacer has already won in 1:51.1 at Harrah’s Philadelphia this season.
Middleton Terror is the morning line favourite from post 5 for trainer-driver David Dowling with his latest outing a victory in 1:57 for his 22nd lifetime win from 61 career starts.
Howmac Maximus (To be driven by Damian MacLellan) has rail control from the Tammy Collings with 10 top-three finishes from 12 starts this season.
Post 2 has Melody Maker (Corey MacPherson), who knocked off this class on June 18 in 1:55.2 for owner-trainer Greg MacInnis.
Mantario leaves from post 3 with Paul Langille getting the catch driving call for trainer Jennifer Doyle.
The Backstretch Beat selects Middleton Terror on top.
