SUMMERSIDE, PE – Tony Too Tall (Big Bad John) makes his first Atlantic Canadian appearance in the Tuesday evening (July 9) harness racing feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Tony Too Tall in prior win

The eight-year-old has post 4 in the $3,500 featured pace, carded as race 12 on the 13-dash card. First race post time is 6 P.M.

Myles Heffernan Sr., has the catch driving call on Tony Too Tall for trainer Trevor Hicken and owner Perry Burke of Quebec. The winner of 32 races and $437,000 was racing the claiming ranks in Pennsylvania and New York for trainer Per Engblom before being purchased by Burke. The pacer has already won in 1:51.1 at Harrah’s Philadelphia this season.

Middleton Terror is the morning line favourite from post 5 for trainer-driver David Dowling with his latest outing a victory in 1:57 for his 22nd lifetime win from 61 career starts.

Howmac Maximus (To be driven by Damian MacLellan) has rail control from the Tammy Collings with 10 top-three finishes from 12 starts this season.

Post 2 has Melody Maker (Corey MacPherson), who knocked off this class on June 18 in 1:55.2 for owner-trainer Greg MacInnis.

Mantario leaves from post 3 with Paul Langille getting the catch driving call for trainer Jennifer Doyle.

The Backstretch Beat selects Middleton Terror on top.

“Middleton Terror has put together a nice season and already has four wins to show for it. He’s also back in post five and loves to race at this track so expect him to have a large say in the outcome.”

The back-up class hits the track for $2,850 in race 11 with Coasttocoastshark (Jaycob Sweet) headlining the crew from post 5. The ultra-consistent veteran will face six rivals including Ideal Jet (MacLellan) and Rusty Riley (Langille).
