CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The top mares in Atlantic Canadian Harness Racing are set to renew their harness racing rivalry on Saturday (Dec. 16) afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Saturday card has 13-dashes scheduled with a 12:30 P.M. start time.
The $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred is carded as race 12 of the day with Tobins Brownie the favourite off the rail for trainer-driver David Dowling and owners Brittany Dowling, Sandra Weeks and Erroll Burgoyne of Springvale. The former Atlantic Champion filly is one win shy of 30-races lifetime after beating this class last week in a head decision over Sugar Bowl.
Sugar Bowl (Sweet Lou) has post 5 this week with Jason Hughes driving his trainee for owners Tommy Collings and Brian MacPhee of Mount Stewart. The four-year-old has made 10 visits to the winner’s circle so far this season.
Post 2 will see Acefortyfour Dome from the Hughes barn. Mark Bradley picks up the catch drive behind the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series champion for owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge.
D Gs Elsa has post 3 from the Luke Burke stable for owner Robin Burke of Brackley and driver Ken Murphy. The mare has proven she can never be counted out in this class after winning at 37-1 at this level earlier in the season.
Dreamfair Zenfire holds down post 4 with Marc Campbell driving for trainer Brent Campbell and owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris.
Chelski rounds out the entries from post 6 for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Jennifer Doyle. The Rollwithitharry mare is owned by Jeff and Robert Skinner of Nova Scotia.

Roll Em, No Plan Intended Set To Duel In Charlottetown
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Roll Em is back on red soil and ready to take on the Sunday afternoon feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 13-dash presentation started at 12:30 P.M., with the $3,800 Preferred Pace hitting the track in race 12.
No Plan Intended (Up The Credit) is the morning line favourite from post 4 after winning this class his last three starts. Jason Hughes is in the sulky for trainer Jennifer Doyle and owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. The five-year-old has scored seven victories in 2023 including a 1:53 flat season’s best at Red Shores Summerside.
Roll Em (Time To Roll) gets the outside post 5 as he returns to the Brent Campbell barn in Orwell after a short stint in Ontario. The trainer co-owns thBlood Money has rail control in the class with Gilles Barrieau back in the bike behind the stallion son of Sweet Lou for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Dr. Mitchell Downey of Saint John, N.B.
Island Beach Boy is the post 2 entry from the Tom Weatherbie barn. Brodie MacPhee drives the 19-time winner for owners Ian Smith and Arnold Hagen.
Middleton Terror completes the field with post 3 for trainer-driver David Dowling and owners Kingsley Walsh and Frank Balcom.
The Post Time Picks will side with Roll Em on top.
