CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Track record holder Dreamfair Zenfire (Sunfire Blue Chip) is dreaming of victory in the Saturday afternoon (Dec. 9) Fillies and Mares Preferred harness racing pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Saturday will feature a 13-dash presentation at the historic half-mile oval starting at 12:30 P.M.
The Brent Campbell trained Dreamfair Zenfire has post 2 in the race 12 $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace for owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris. Marc Campbell drives the daughter of Sunfire Blue Chip as she currently sits at 55-lifetime victories.
Stablemate Plain Jane (To be driven by Adam Merner) has rail control in the feature while Tobins Brownie has post 3 for trainer-driver David Dowling.
The Jason Hughes trained duo of Acefortyfour Dome (Hughes) and Sugar Bowl (Mark Bradley) holds down post 4 and 5, respectively.
The Post Time Picks are going with Dreamfair Zenfire in the win position.
“Dreamfair Zenfire brushed to the front but faded to fourth last week. With her stablemate on the rail, she should get to the front uncontested. I’ll give her the slight nod in here because I have so much respect for what she’s accomplished over the last few years. She’s earned it.”
Hughes will be the talk of the day as the Stratford driver sits at 1,999 lifetime driving wins and has eight chances to bump himself to that milestone moment. Hughes starts competition in race 3 of the day with Czarspieceofheaven from the Todd Weatherbee barn.

Evil Vintage will look to add some more wins to his sophomore season in the Sunday afternoon (Dec. 10) closer at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has 13-dashes underway at 12:30 P.M., with Evil Vintage the favourite in the race 13 finale.
Corey MacPherson trains and drives the post 2 starter for owner Sandra Lee Stead of Montague. The son of Great Vintage has been a seven-time winner this year including a 1:55.4 career best taken at Charlottetown. The pacer was making a hard three-wide brush in his latest when traffic got tight and he was placed for interference. Prior to that, Evil Vintage was a winner in three of four starts including his record mark.
Iron tough pacer Cowboy Logic (To be driven by Steven Shepherd) holds down the rail position from the Harold Shepherd barn as he looks for win number six of the campaign.
Kataparka is the 3-1 second choice from post 7 for the team of driver Adam Merner and trainer Melissa Rennie. The six-year-old son of Well Said has 20-top-three finishes from 30 starts in 2023.
Howmac Agustus was a winner in partnership with Marc Campbell his last start and the duo reunites on Sunday for trainer Kyle Williams with post 3.
Also in the field are Hippyjohn (Kenny Arsenault), Selkirk Echo (Gilles Barrieau) and Big Boy Hill (Jason Hughes).
The Post Time Picks put Evil Vintage on top.
“Evil Vintage didn’t get into the race last week and finished at the back. Just a friendly reminder he’s tied for the most wins on the page and MacPherson is rolling along so they could close the card with a win.”
The top dash of the day is the race 12 Preferred Pace for a $3,800 pot. Time To Dance (Campbell) is selected to win over Blood Money (Barrieau) and Laughagain Hanover (Hughes).
