Reys N A Rocket is at peak velocity currently, as the seven-year-old increased her harness racing winning streak to five on Thursday with a 1:54 score in the Rideau Carleton Raceway feature.

Ryan Guy sent the mare three-wide from post five into a speed duel entering the first turn, and she battled past the quarter mile pole in :28 to take the lead. Guy kept a sharp tempo through the middle panels, which they completed in :56.4 and 1:24.3.

Thinkingofyoubabe (Guy Gagnon) was the only foe in striking range turning for home, and she closed in as they entered the stretch. Reys N A Rocket drifted out but fought back and outlasted her rival to take her fifth straight victory by half a length. Thinkingofyoubabe flattened out and finished second. Arrhythmogenic (Daniel St. Pierre) was third.

Reys N A Rocket’s win at a price of $2.70 was her 38th career victory in 133 outings. The daughter of Mattarocket has earned $212,317 lifetime. Victor Puddy conditions the mare for Limco Inc. of Chateauguay.

Samuel Fillion was the day’s most proficient reinsman with four trips to the winner’s circle. He won with three Michael Armstrong trainees – Amigo Mio (2:00), Jon Snow (1:55), and Angels Kid (1:57), as well as Mandy Archer’s Windsong Quincy (1:54.1).
