Ottawa, ON--Rideau Carleton Raceway would like to remind horseplayers and fans that while live harness racing continues every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm (Eastern) up to and including Dec. 14, Wednesday night racing is now done for the year.
There will be a special 4 pm (Eastern) post time for the Thursday, Nov. 27 Rideau races, which are available for wagering on major North American ADWs. The livestream can also be watched on the track’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
The Sunday, Nov. 23 card features the return of the reigning Rideau Carleton Horse of the Year, The Light Speed, in the race 6 preferred handicap pace. He and trainer/driver Guy Gagnon will take on the most recent top class winner, HP Lis Shadow. The Jacob Copley trainee is back in line to Robert Shepherd, aboard for the latest victory.
Fans of National Debt (p. 3, 1:49.4h; $670,796) will want to visit Rideau Carleton on Sunday, Nov. 30 for the 14-year-old stallion’s official retirement ceremony. Owner François Morin has kindly arranged to bring The Light Speed’s longtime rival back to the track to meet the public on what is sure to be a special evening.
Mr. Lucky’s restaurant and the grandstand snack bar remain open on live race nights.
