With just eleven race dates left in its 2025 harness racing meet, Ottawa’s Rideau Carleton Raceway starts November with a ten-race card this Sunday (Nov. 2) at 6:30 pm (Eastern).

Reigning Rideau Horse of the Year The Light Speed (p, 7, 1:50.3f; $400,826) is two wins away from career victory number 75. The seven-year-old Moon Beam-Jayma gelding owned by breeder Michel Nolette of Princeville, QC lowered his lifetime mark May 14 at his home track. The Light Speed and his 2024 O’Brien Award of Horsemanship-winning trainer-driver Guy Gagnon edged out top rival HP Lis Shadow last Sunday in the Rideau preferred handicap pace. The rivalry resumes in race 8 this Sunday evening.
Rideau Carleton streams live races on its YouTube channel and is available for wagering on HPIbet, TwinSpires, NYRA Bets, Xpressbet, Watch And Wager, and other major advance-deposit wagering providers across North America.
Local racing fans are welcome to attend qualifiers Sundays at 5 pm. Mr Lucky’s grandstand restaurant is open on race nights, Wednesdays (until Nov. 19) and Sundays though Dec. 14. Reservations are not required.
Rideau Carleton will have a special American Thanksgiving card on ThursdayNovember 27 with a first post of 4 pm.
