All Wrapped Up (Archangel) was a convincing winner in the Preferred-Handicap Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (Oct. 10) to make it three top-level harness racing scores in his last four starts.

Guy Gagnon drove his trainee to the front in a :28 quarter and :58.1 half. Black Tie Bash (Robert Shepherd) was positioned first-over through the middle half but could make little headway, with All Wrapped Up leading by two lengths through three-quarters in 1:26.2. All Wrapped Up stretched his cushion on the final turn and cruised home to a three-length victory in 1:55.2. Warrawee Xalt (Ryan Guy) was second over Black Tie Bash.

ALL WRAPPED UP REPLAY

All Wrapped Up is three-for-four since being claimed by owners Sylvain Cote of Joliette and Michel Lagace of Terrebonne, who brought him to Rideau Carleton in September. The eight-year-old gelding has racked up 35 wins and $627,158 in earnings from 186 lifetime starts.

Also on the card, Whats Inthe Esky A (Western Edition, Pascal Berube) ended a 39-start losing streak. The gelding, in his third start for owner/trainer Gerard Vaillancourt, capitalized on a pocket ride and beat Butterfly Kisses (Shepherd) in the stretch to win by a half-length in 1:55.1. The 10-year-old gelding’s previous win dates back to Sep. 3, 2023 at Rideau Carleton. He is now 19-for-203 lifetime with $178,937 in earnings.

Berube was the night’s top driver with three wins.

The next card at Rideau Carleton Raceway is set for Sunday, Oct. 13 with a 6:30 p.m. first post.
