Ripped And Ready (Muscle Mass) scored his seventh win of the season in the Rideau Carleton Raceway top harness racing trot and lowered his lifetime mark in the Thursday (Aug. 25) edition.
Regular reinsman Pascal Berube had the five-year-old on top in an instant and rated the fractions to :28.1, :57.2, and 1:25.3 while racing unopposed. The stallion stormed home, resisting the rally of pocket-sitter Crossfit (Jimmy Gagnon) for the victory in 1:54.2. Holdin Aces (Samuel Fillion) finished third.
RIPPED AND READY REPLAY
Ripped And Ready has now won 19 times and has earned $202,391 in 54 career starts. The Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Final runner-up has missed the board once in 12 starts this season, all at the top level at Rideau Carleton. Thierry Vandenplas trains the stallion for Dr. Ruth Irving of Russell.
Also on the card, three-year-old Thinking Out Loud gelding Franky Bob extended his win streak to five. He debuted this season and has taken all six of his wins in his most recent seven starts. Stephane Brosseau drove the gelding for owner/trainer/breeder Robert Bernicky.
Berube totaled four wins in the dayās 10 races.
Rideau Carletonās next program features two $101,300 divisions of three-year-old pacing fillies contesting the fourth leg of their Ontario Sires Stakes Gold series. Two Grassroots splits and a single Prospect Series dash for the same demographic will also go forward.
