CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Acefortyfour Dome (Up The Credit) and Share The Moment (Control The Moment) have some harness racing business to settle during the Thursday evening (Aug. 4) top class at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 6:30 P.M. start time for the 12-dash card with the top event slated as race 11.
The $3,200 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace has Share The Moment as the 5-2 morning line favourite but Acefortyfour Dome has gotten the best of her three times already this season including a 1:52.3 track record during their last outing in Standardbred Canada Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series action at the Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia.
The duo has met five times with Share The Moment triumphant in two of them and looking to even the score Thursday from post 3 with Gilles Barrieau in the seat for trainer Bo Ford and owners Arnold Myers, Luke Beck, Scott Bridges and A1 Stable. Acefortyfour Dome seeks her seventh win of the season as Jason Hughes trains and drives for Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge.
Red Shores Charlottetown track record holder Dreamfair Zenfire leaves from post 4 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell while David Dowling is back in the race bike Thursday after recovering from surgery and drives Tobins Brownie from post 7.
Peter MacPhee sides with Share The Moment to settle the score from post 3 in the Post Time Picks.
“Share The Moment was awesome in the Chappell Series and went right down the road in 1:53.1. We’re betting Gilles will have her on the front foot and score win number four on the season.”
Also, in the preferred field are recent 1:53 winner Atlantic Star (To be driven by Mike McGuigan) as well as Ladylike (Corey MacPherson) and Ms Moyse (Adam Merner).
Race 10 is the EGTC Staff Fund pace for $2,500 as Havarti (Betterthancheddar) ships in from Truro to be the top choice from post 3. She was third in the pacing mares track record mile her last start at the Truro Raceway and draws away from that group on Thursday as she makes the trek to Charlottetown. Paul Langille trains and drives the mare for Chantel Langille.
