CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Another superb Preferred Pace will grace the harness racing track Saturday evening (May 27) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Capital oval has a 6 P.M., opening post time for the 12-dash program with the $3,800 Preferred 1 Pace hitting the track in race 11.
Roll Em (Time To Roll) is the top choice in the star-studded field as the winner of over $100,000 in 2022 will look to replicate his 1:54.1 grinding victory from May 20 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owners Brady Doyle, Brent Campbell, Ryan MacLeod and Kent MacDonald. Roll Em has post 3 on Saturday as the morning line favourite.
His stablemate, Time To Dance (A Rocknroll Dance), has post 4 in the class from the Campbell barn with Jason Hughes picking up the catch drive after the former Gold Cup and Saucer champion finished second in his return to P.E.I.
Batterup Hanover ships in from Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia and gets rail control for trainer-driver Paul Langille as the Betting Line five-year-old coasts into the event with a three-race win streak at stake.
Post 2 has Avatar J (by American Ideal, To be driven by Gilles Barrieau) while Soccer Hanover (Dragon Again, Corey MacPherson) leaves from post 5.
Fern Hill General (Malicious, Brodie MacPhee) started off his four-year-old campaign with a third place finish in this class last week and has post 6 while former Preferred winner Matticulous GB (Hasty Hall, Ken Murphy) has post 7.
The Post Time Picks like Roll Em.
“Roll Em looked great in his P.E.I. debut powering first up and scoring in 1:54.1. Slides into post three and Campbell will have him well placed so if he closes in 28 seconds or better it could be a repeat performance.”

The Backstretch Beat likes Saulsbrook Ian to keep on winning.
“Saulsbrook Ian may be one of the fastest horses to ever grace the program pages of the P.E.I. Colt Stakes. He has lots to do to prove that true but the flashes of talent he has shown have been nothing short of unbelievable. He has a big motor and it will be in play today.”
Fishermans Son (Arthur Blue Chip) is the favourite in the other $14,500 pacing colt Gold division in race 4 from post 2 for driver Danny Gillis and trainer Walter Walker.

The $11,600 Gold division in race 7 also has Murphy favoured to win in the race bike as Rock N Roll Cays (Tobago Cays) is the top contender off the rail from the Jeff Holmes barn for owner Hardcore Racing of Belfast.
The final filly Gold division is in race 11 with Home Hardware Maritime Breeder’s Champion Saulsbrook Mabel (Malicious) the top dog from post 5. Gilles Barrieau will drive the Joe Baxter trained and co-owned filly for co-owner Saulsbrook Stables Inc., of Windsor, N.S. The filly has been undefeated in three career outings.
