Fubar Bundy (All Bets Off) kept his career harness racing record unblemished with a fourth consecutive win as he captured the BC-bred Stake second leg for two-year-old colts and geldings at Fraser Downs on Thursday (Oct. 17).

The colt motored through the first quarter in :28.1 to secure the lead, and his reign went unopposed through middle-half fractions of :58 and 1:26.2. He edged away on the final turn and allowed only marginal gains from pocket-tripper Westcoast Mccoy (Phil Giesbrecht), cruising home to win by a length-and-a-quarter in 1:54.4. Westcoast Mccoy claimed the place spot, followed by Odins Fury (Glenn White).

FUBAR BUNDY REPLAY

Fubar Bundy is undefeated in four outings for Therres, who trains and co-owns the freshman with Ralph Therres, KFC Farms, and Dairen Edwards. The colt took a mark of 1:54.3 in a 12-length victory on debut and has now earned $26,000.

In other BC-bred Stake action, Rod Therres sent out Heavens Lil Dragon (Custard The Dragon) to win the first division of leg two for rookie fillies. She went all the way for her third lifetime victory, holding off Dragons Attitude (Serge Masse) by a head in a deep-stretch duel. The latter was placed third for interference, elevating Crunch N Munch (John Abbott) to place.

HEAVENS LIL DRAGON REPLAY

Heavens Lil Dragon, second in the first leg, is now three-for-five with $20,125 in earnings. She is owned by the same group as Fubar Bundy.

Threecurtaincalls (Huntsville, Giesbrecht) made a winning debut in the second split. The Jim Marino trainee entered the stretch with the lead and battled off the closing Machnroll Fantasy (Scott Knight) and Snowdragon (Kelly Hoerdt) to prevail in a three-across finish. The filly stopped the clock in 1:58 with Machnroll Fantasy beaten a neck in second. Snowdragon finished third.

THREECURTAINCALLS REPLAY

Threecurtaincalls, the third-highest price of the 2023 ASHA Yearling Sale, won her only qualifier in 1:56.3. She picked up a $7,500 cheque in the win for JJJ Stables.

The next card at Fraser Downs is set for Friday, Oct. 18, beginning at 7:00 p.m. PDT. The feature is a Preferred Pace with an eight-horse field.
