CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Rosetown Mary (Pang Shui-Brodys Leona) front-stepped to a Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace victory on the Thursday evening (May 30) harness racing program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Corey MacPherson was at the controls of his trainee in the $3,500 feature as the four-year-old mare led through splits of 28.4, 58.2 and 1:28 before sprinting away to stop the clock in 1:55.2. Ms Moyse (Driven by Adam Merner) was second with Share The Moment (Gilles Barrieau) third while Tobins Brownie had her win streak snapped at three-straight as she finished fourth. Taylor MacPherson shares ownership of Rosetown Mary with Rosetown Stable of Stratford.
The Ron Matheson stable was firing on all cylinders with three wins including a pair of horses from Paul Holmes’ Outrageous Stable in Warren Grove. Gilles Barrieau was in the race bike for the Matheson trained wins by Outrageous Song (1:58.2) and younger sister Outrageous Style (1:56.2) as well as Topville Angelina (1:57).
Mike McGuigan doubled up as a trainer-driver with lifetime best performances from Islebetu Islebeatu (1:56.3) and Gettin Lit (2:00.1).
