Run The World Deo (Stay Hungry), a $90,000 yearling purchase, made her Canadian harness racing debut and her first career appearance in the winner’s circle at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday (Aug. 17).
Phil Hudon guided the filly to a front-end victory. They paced the first three panels unbothered, throwing up fractions of :28, :57.2, and 1:25.2. Run The World Deo edged away from pocket-sitter Wickedwoman De Vie (Sylvian Filion) in the stretch drive and stopped the clock in 1:53. Wickedwoman De Vie made marginal late gains and finished a length-and-three-quarters back in second. Tea Party Hanover (Scott Young) was third.
