The four-year-old pacing harness racing horse, Sauble Ace (Betterthancheddar) won the final and $12,000 feature race Tuesday evening at Georgian Downs.

At the word go, Century Inspector left from the far outside and took command of the race. Sauble Ace found himself a nice pocket trip to start. Century Inspector set the early pace and posted fractions of 27.2, 56.1, and 1:24.1.

It wasn’t until the field hit the final turn that Sauble Ace and Jason Ryan made their move. A 29-second final quarter of a mile was needed for him to pass Century Inspector and win in 1:53.3.

Century Inspector (Bradley Harris) held second place while Bettor B Sirius (Tyler Moore) tried closing late but finished third by a nose.

SAUBLE ACE REPLAY

Sauble Ace picked up his third win of the year and his tenth lifetime. He has won back-to-back races now and both were at Georgian Downs. Otis Hall adds another training win to his total and now has 13 on the year. He has accumulated $99,723 and is close to hitting the $100,000 mark for three straight years.

Jason Ryan earned one other win on the card with the two-year-old pacing colt, Officersoldierboy (Mcwicked).

Brett Macdonald was the only other driver to pick up two wins on the card. He won back-to-back races starting with steering St Lads Flirt (Camluck) to his fourth win in five starts. Macdonald was also teamed up with Crosscut (Mcardle) who scored his third win of the year and posted a season best mile time of 1:55 if the effort.

Racing continues at Georgian Downs on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7:15 p.m. EDT.
