Saulsbrook Victor (Source Of Pride) ended a 16-race winless spell with a 1:52.4 harness racing romp through the dense fog at Georgian Downs on Wednesday (Jul. 5).
He settled in fourth for driver and owner Brett MacDonald in a :28 first quarter and got moving as Pirate Hanover (Samuel Fillion) flushed the four-year-old out just past the half in :57.1. Saulsbrook Victor headed the charge first-over and hooked up with leader Odds on Carmel (Anthony Haughan) through the three-quarter-mile station in 1:25.
Odds On Carmel leveraged the turn to enter the stretch in front, but Saulsbrook Victor was unstoppable on the day and paced three-and-three-quarter lengths clear for the win.
Odds On Carmel was in time to hold off P L Oliver (Jason Ryan) for second. The winner returned $4.30.
