CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Share The Moment (Control The Moment) is slated as the top harness racing choice in the Thursday evening (Jun. 15) Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 13-dash presentation has a 6 P.M. opening post time with the $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace seeing the starting gate in race 12.
Share The Moment gets the respect of Race Secretary Gerard Smith as the morning line favourite from post 4. Gilles Barrieau has the driving assignment behind the Bo Ford trainee for owners Arnold Myers, Luke Beck, Scott Bridges and John MacDougall. An eight-time winner in 2022, Share The Moment was third in her 2023 debut last week at this same level.
Atlantic Star (Driven by Mike McGuigan) has rail control in the field of six while JM Sportsfan (Steven Shepherd) won this class on June 1 and gets post 2 to work from on Thursday. David Dowling drives Ladylike from post 5 while Plain Jane (Marc Campbell) has post 6.
Acefortyfourdome garnered the place prize on June 8 and makes her third start of the season this week for trainer-driver Jason Hughes from post 3. The Post Time Picks will play Acefortyfourdome on top.
“We went with Acefortyfour Dome last week and she raced great nabbing the runner up spot. We’re betting Hughes will want to boss it from the hop so she could go right down the Red Shores highway.”
New Legacy gets the outside in a compact field of five in the race 7 $3,100 Open Trot. Adam Merner handles the driving duties for trainer Colin Johnson and owners Matt and David Burke, Debbie Element and Don MacNeill Jr. His top rivals towards breaking his two-race win streak are Labero (Corey MacPherson) and Jessiejesorjessica (Dowling). Dealin Magic also moves into the Jennifer Doyle stable with new ownership from post 3 in line to Barrieau. Rounding out the field is Freddie (Campbell).
