Shark Week (Vertical Horizon) again proved himself to be the top of the harness racing food chain with a sixth consecutive top-class victory on Saturday (Dec. 10) at Century Mile.
Driver Michael Hennessy procured the win in the four-year-old stallionās typical front-stepping fashion. He cut the mile ā fractions of :28.2, :56, 1:24, and 1:52.4 ā while under pressure from Icy Blue Scooter (Nathan Sobey) from the three-eighths on. Shark Week put that rival away in the stretch and scored by a length-and-a-quarter. Samba Beat (Phil Giesbrecht) rallied for second, passing pocket-sitter Munchie Chris (David Kelly) in the final strides.
