Shes Nun Bettor N and driver Doug McNair were game from start to finish in capturing the $25,000 feature pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park Friday.
The fourth race feature for fillies and mares saw Shes Nun Bettor N and McNair leave strongly from post seven with the 2-1 race favorite, Kickupyaheels N (Louis-Philippe Roy) also leaving and getting the two-hole tuck. They sped to the opening quarter mile in :27.1.
As they started down the backstretch, Born A Dragon and driver Travis Cullen started up first-over, giving live cover to Good Night Moon (Jody Jamieson) second-over. They raced to the half mile marker in :56.2.
Born A Dragon was nearly head and head with Shes Nun Bettor N off the final turn to the three-quarters in 1:24.1.
As they came down the stretch, Awesome Hill took a misstep in the pocket and went off-stride. Shes Nun Bettor N continued to maintain her lead as Born A Dragon began to tire.
With 50 yards to the finish, Awesome Hill and driver Sylvain Filion came flying from nearly last place to be second as Shes Nun Bettor N won with ease by three-quarters of a length in 1:52.4. Majestic Virgin (Jonathan Drury) was third.
