CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – After an early break in stride Silver Beast saw himself with a sizeable deficit but circled up to win the harness racing featured Dr. Blair Kelly Memorial Pace Friday night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park as part of Gold Cup and Saucer week racing.
Dale Spence was behind the MacKenzie MacInnis trainee in the Kelly Memorial, presented by the Charlottetown Vet Clinic, but was on the run behind the gate before catching back on stride to get away last. The four-year-old son of Betterthancheddar stopped the clock in 1:57.2 for owner Island Silver Stable of Kelvin Grove. Paris Beau was second while Tempo Seelster (Ken Murphy) finished third.
