So Frisky (Dali) made a double move to harness racing victory in the Fillies and Mares Preferred at Flamboro Downs on Thursday (Oct. 19).
Starting third for Colin Kelly, the mare came out on the second turn and raced wide before ducking into the pocket briefly on the backstretch. She raced behind odds-on leader Exotic Dragon (Travis Cullen) to three-quarters, re-rallied on the final turn, and fought clear in the stretch to score in 1:54. Exotic Dragon held second over the closing Ahoy (Brett MacDonald).
SO FRISKY REPLAY
So Frisky has tallied 37 lifetime wins in 130 starts, and she moved within striking range of $300,000 in earnings with the victory. The Anita Ouellette trainee has made $296,933 and took a mark of 1:51.2 at Woodbine Mohawk Park earlier this year. The seven-year-old is owned by Luc Ouellette Incorporated of Campbellville.
Drivers Kelly and Travis Henry both recorded triples on the night. They are second and third, respectively, to MacDonald in the standings.
Flamboro Downs resumes racing on Saturday, Oct. 21 with a card featuring the Autumn Series Event A final.
