Breeders Crown show finisher So Much More (Big Jim) extended her Preferred-level winning streak to nine in the Fillies and Mares Preferred Handicap on Friday (Nov. 18) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

James MacDonald hustled the mare to the lead in a :28.1 opening  panel and took a tighter hold going to the half in :57.4. Delitfulcatherin N (Doug McNair) launched a first over assault as they bent into the final turn, and she and So Much More clashed as they passed three-quarters in 1:25.1 and rounded into the lane.

Delitfulcatherin N pursued the leader into the final eighth, but So Much More impressed her superiority as she kicked away in the closing stages to score in 1:52.1.

Gias Surreal (Bob McClure) caught Delitfulcatherin N for place.

SO MUCH MORE REPLAY

So Much More has now won nine top-class races in a row, broken up by eliminations and finals of the Milton Stakes and Breeders Crown. She is 56-for-122 lifetime and has earned $1,198,255. Trainer Don Beatson co-owns the six-year-old with Kenneth Beatson of Palgrave and Cole England of Exeter.

Also on the card, Girl Scout Cookie (State Treasurer, Austin Sorrie) captured the second leg of the Ontario-sired Harvest Series for three-year-old pacing fillies. It was the Joe Pereira trainee’s fifth career win in 40 outings. She has earned $86,241 for owners William Johnstone and William Gillan of Thorold. The series final is set for Friday, Nov. 25.

Two other divisions will contest their Harvest Series finals on Mohawk’s next card. Three-year-old colts and geldings of both gaits will go to post for $46,300 (trotters) and $51,100 (pacers). First post is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.
