Southwind Coors (Walner), the 2023 Goodtimes winner, made it two-for-three on the season with another narrow harness racing victory at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday (Apr. 1).
The gelding reached up to grab the lead from post eight for Chris Christoforou approaching the first station in :27.2. He reached the half in :57.2 and comfortably led to three-quarters in 1:26.4. The first-over Mercutio (Tyler Jones) had nothing to offer down the stretch, but Like Chaos (Trevor Henry) surged late. He rapidly closed down the leader, but Southwind Coors hung on by a nose in 1:53.4. Mercutio held third, seven-and-a-half lengths back of the winner.
