Speaker Of Peace (Artspeak) won his fourth consecutive harness racing contest in the second preliminary leg of the Snowshoe Series for three- and four-year-old pacing males on Friday (Feb. 2).

Speaker Of Peace winning the second division by a neck

The gelding came from sixth behind cover for Scott Young on the final turn and soared in deep stretch to get up past Lets Go Jude (Doug McNair) and take the second division by a neck in 1:52.2.  Lets Go Jude was second, followed a length-and-a-half by All Bets On Tex (Tyler Moore).

SPEAKER OF PEACE REPLAY

Speaker Of Peace has now won four straight, including both preliminary legs of the Snowshoe, and is poised for a series sweep next week. The four-year-old, owned and trained by William McClure, is seven-for-27 lifetime with earnings of $116,790.

Wry (Artspeak) took the first division in a lifetime-best 1:52.4. The gelding swept past his rivals from second over and cruised to a three-and-a-half-length score over Call Me It (Phil Hudon). Bet The Bb (Travis Cullen) completed the ticket.

WRY REPLAY

The Chris Matthews-trained Wry finished second in the first leg and is two-for-four this year. The four-year-old has won four of his 28 career appearances and has racked up $84,350 in bankroll. Matthews co-owns the gelding with Todd Williams of Guelph, Jeff Bryan, and Gary Lyons.

The $30,000A final of the series is set for Feb. 9.
