Stash The Cookies (Sunfire Blue Chip) turned in a second consecutive winning harness racing effort in the Fillies and Mares Preferred at Century Downs on Friday (Jul. 15).
She emerged from the centre of a three-horse vanguard fighting for the lead and headed her six rivals to the quarter mile marker in :27. The six-year-old strolled to the half in :56.3 for trainer/driver Logan Gillis and made a backstretch dash to open up by three lengths as she hit three-quarters in 1:24.1.
Favourite Betcha Baby (J. Brandon Campbell) chased the leader to the line, but Stash The Cookies proved a length-and-a-quarter the best in 1:53.1. Past Affair (David Kelly) also made headway but could not improve on her third-place positioning.
The winner returned $9.80.
