Kameran Hanover (Donato Hanover, Jason Ryan) kept climbing first-over and got up with little room to spare in capturing the harness racing Preferred Handicap Trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (May 16).
After mobilizing from fourth just past three-eighths, the stallion worked his way toĀ within a half-length of leader Scene A Magician (Garrett Rooney) on the final turn. The pacesetter kicked back out at the top of the stretch, and Sizzlen Hot Herbie (Natasha Day) rallied three-wide, but Kameran Hanover hustled home fastest to nail Scene A Magician by a head in 1:56.4. Sizzlen Hot Herbie was third.
KAMERAN HANOVER REPLAY
Kameran Hanover is now 23-for-172 lifetime with $460,645 in earnings. The nine-year-old bounces between London and Woodbine Mohawk Park but is typically competitive when he lands in a B-track Preferred. Camilla Christoforou trains and co-owns the nine-year-old with Irvann Holdings of Toronto.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District resumes racing on Wednesday, May 17 at 5:50 p.m. EDT with a 10-race card featuring second-leg divisions of the City of London Series.
