Saulsbrook Jessie (Big Jim) cruised to an open-length win in the first harness racing feature of the season at Georgian Downs on Saturday (Jun. 4).
The mare lost the immediate battle for the front to Latte Seelster (Tyler Borth) but took point at the quarter mile marker in :28 as Brett MacDonald ordered a re-take. Saulsbrook Jessie headed the group of five through :57.4 and 1:26.2 middle fractions and streaked away from her opponents in the stretch to score a four-and-a-quarter-length victory in 1:54.4. Broken (Travis Henry) sustained a first-over move and beat Latte Seelster for place.
