Poseidon Seelster (Sunshine Beach) defeated Preferred-Handicap opponents to win his first harness racing start of the year at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday (Jan. 4).
The gelding took a pocket ride behind favourite Whatchulookin At (Trevor Henry), tracking the pylons through fractions of :27.4, :56.2, and 1:24.1. Poseidon Seelster had little trouble dispatching the pacesetter and went a length clear at the eight pole before rolling home to a two-length victory in 1:52.3. Pacino Hanover (Travis Cullen) took second with Whatchulookin At completing the triactor.
