Sunshine Boy (Sunshine Beach) shone again at Fraser Downs in his third Preferred-level harness racing victory of the season on Friday (Nov. 3).
Itll Be Fine (Kelly Hoerdt), looking for a third straight win, fired out from post seven and took point over Sunshine Boy on the way to the quarter in :27.4. Dave Hudon popped the pocket with Sunshine Boy in front of the stands and reached the lead before the half in :56.1.
Hudon hit the gas in the third quarter, and Sunshine Boy raced with no challengers to three-quarters in 1:23.4. Itll Be Fine stuck with him in the pocket, but Sunshine Boy marched home and allowed no gains from the chasing horses to score by two lengths in 1:52.1.
Mach Steady (John Abbott) overhauled Itll Be Fine in the lane for second.
SUNSHINE BOY REPLAY
Sunshine Boy is now a five-time winner this season and has tallied three times in the Preferred at Fraser. Jim Marino trains the gelding, who is now 18-for-62 with $220,828 in career bankroll. He co-owns the five-year-old with J J J Stables of Prince George and Paul Sanders of Surrey.
Fraser Downs will resume action on Thursday, Nov. 9.
