Sunshine Boy (Sunshine Boy) proved unbothered by the rain as the harness racing gelding won his fifth straight Preferred at Fraser Downs on Friday (Dec. 1).
The gelding toughed out his path to the front for Scott Knight, swinging three-wide on the turn and through the quarter in :27 to march for the top. He took command as the field straightened for the stands and extended his lead to four lengths with middle fractions of :56 and 1:24.2. The gelding carried that lead into the stretch and held off the closing field to score in 1:54.3. Mach Steady (John Abbott) was quickest of the cavalry charge and finished second by a length. Itll Be Fine (Kelly Hoerdt) was third.
