Its Not My Vault (The Bank) rebounded from her first career harness racing loss with a win in Prospect Series leg 5A for two-year-old filly pacers at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday (Sep. 18).
The filly sat third in the first division for Colin Kelly as Silver Manalishi (Bruce Richardson) got away with :30 and 1:02.3 first-half fractions. Its Not My Vault went to the outside as the field entered the third turn and muscled to the front, taking over before three-quarters in 1:31.4. She added a couple lengths of cushion on the final turn and cruised homoe to win by a length-and-three-quarters in 2:02 over Banks A Million (J. Bradley Harris). Silver Manalishi was third.
ITS NOT MY VAULT REPLAY
Its Not My Vault is now five-for-six with $20,960 in earnings. She has made all career starts in the Prospect Series. Kim Baxter trains the rookie and co-owns her with Coyote Wynd Farms of Oakville.
Sweet Swirl (Muscle Mass, Anthony Haughan) took the second division. She led the rest of the field as Belvedere Kathy (Dagfin Henriksen) flew out to a loose lead in the first half before fading going to three-quarters. Sweet Swirl inherited command and hustled home while building her lead to two-and-three-quarter lengths in a 1:58.4 victory.
Mr Kirsi (Brett MacDonald) held off Talbot Ehbeesea (Samuel Fillion) for second.
SWEET SWIRL REPLAY
Sweet Swirl has won two of her eight starts and improved her mark by six seconds with Wednesdayās score. She has now earned $13,495. Donald Lindsey trains the filly for Paul Lindsey of Fergus.
