CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Therealprincess (Source Of Pride) continued her perfect season in the Home Hardware Maritime Breeder’s on a sensational Saturday (June 25) harness racing program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Corey MacPherson pointed his heavily favoured charge to the lead in the $34,000 Home Hardware Maritime Breeder’s three-year-old filly division and led every call to win in 1:56.1 over Malice Intent (Jason Hughes) and Mystical Gal (Dale Spence). Eddy Doucette co-owns and trains Therealprincess with co-owners Blaine Thibeau, Gordon MacLeod and Grant Mann.
The $14,200 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders three-year-old pacing colt divisions saw the fastest split claimed by Stronebridge Terror colt Middleton Terror in 1:54.2 for trainer-driver David Dowling and owners Frank Balcom, Sam Walsh and Kingsley Walsh.
Fern Hill Gusto, another son of Stonebridge Terror, won his division in 1:54.4 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owner Grayland Farm of Pugwash, N.S. Zendayacougarbeach was missionized in his split with a new lifetime best of 1:55 with Campbell at the controls of the Cougar Hall pacer for trainer David Kelly Sr., and owners Juanita and Alan MacLeod of Brackley.
The Saturday card also had a pair of $6,000 Cecil Ladner Memorial divisions for Invitational pacers.
Batterup Hanover was upset bound in his Ladner division rallying from off-the-pace to win in 1:53.2 while nailing race favourite Time To Dance (Campbell). Paul Langille trains and drives the four-year-old son of Betting Line for owners Debbie Francis, Rosanne and Chantell Langille and Doug Lowthers. Third went to Screen Test (MacPherson).
Rotten Ronnie was unchallenged in the other Ladner division in a front-end score of 1:52.4 for driver Redmond Doucet Jr., trainer Lennan MacIsaac and owners Redmond Doucet Sr., and Andy Stewart of Nova Scotia. Beachin Lindy (Stephen Charlton) came up the inside for second ahead of American Risk (Todd Trites).
Campbell had a driving triple on the card while Dowling scored two winners from his own stable.
