Catch My Breath, three-year-old daughter of the lightly-used sire Thinking Out Loud, jogged in her harness racing debut at 12-1 on Saturday (Feb. 23) at Flamboro Downs.
The Bob McIntosh homebred stepped around her rivals from fourth in a third-quarter dash for Nick Steward and took over before reaching three-quarters. Catch My Breath gave her opponents little time to catch theirs as she widened her lead to four lengths turning for home and pulled away further to top off the victory with a seven-and-a-quarter-length margin and a 1:58.3 initial mark. Sauble Lila (Jason Ryan) nipped Daddys Debit (Paul Mackenzie) late for second.
CATCH MY BREATH REPLAY
McIntosh trains the filly whom he bred in 2021 and owns with Frank Baldachino. The three-year-old, out of Breathtacular, is a half-sister to OāBrien Award finalist Moment Is Here. She was one of six 2021 foals of Thinking Out Loud and is the first winner of the crop.
In the opening race, Million Angels (Artspeak) resurrected her form in her first start for Jason Ryan. After not seeing the winnerās in more than 10 months, she led all the way to score in 1:58.2. The mare, a five-time winner in 65 career starts, had not hit the board in six starts before Ryan bought her on Feb. 15. She has now earned $52,349.
MILLION ANGELS REPLAY
