Three in four for Fix A Drink

Fix A Drink (Angus Hall) regained the Rideau Carleton Raceway Preferred-Handicap Trot crown with his third harness racing victory in four weeks on Thursday (Nov. 16).

The gelding went took over on the first turn and led from there with panels of :28, :57.3, and 1:26.2 for Jimmy Gagnon. First-over Crossfit (Guy Gagnon) closed in the stretch, but Fix A Drink held him off and stopped the clock in 1:55.1. Crossfit missed by three-quarters-of-a-length. Current Danger (Robert Shepherd) was best of the rest, five-and-a-half lengths further back in third. It was the third straight week Fix A Drink and Crossfit made up the exactor.

FIX A DRINK REPLAY

Fix A Drink has now won seven times this season and three of his past four. Breeder Shaun Baines of Mono owns the gelding with Pierre Leclerc of Louisville (QC). Leclerc trains the six-year-old, an 18-time winner in 67 career outings with $90,076 in earnings.

Rideau Carleton Raceway is set to continue racing on Sunday, Nov. 19.
