After winning his $65,000 harness racing division of the Quebec Championship Finals last week, Kingston Panic (Sportswriter) came right back to the Hippodrome 3R Sunday (Sept. 17) afternoon and notched his third straight win.

Kingston Panic (#5) and driver Robert Shepherd beat Spectrum Seelster to the wire (thephotodesk.ca)

Competing in the 7th race pace, it was Spectrum Seelster (Pascal Berube) that cut the mile from the start with Maximus GB (Danny Darveau) sitting the pocket trip as they sped by the first quarter in :28.1 and the half mile in :57.4.

Then it was Kingston Panic and driver Robert Shepherd, the wagering favorite, moving first-over and pressuring Spectrum Seelster to the three-quarters in 1:26.3. But Spectrum Seelster was not giving up and kept Kingston Panic parked out around the final turn.

It was not until deep stretch that Kingston Panic was able to pass by Spectrum Seelster to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:56.1. Maximus GB was third.

KINGSTON PANIC REPLAY

Trained by David Pilon, Kingston Panic is owned and bred by the estate of Brian Paquet and paid $3.00 to win.

In the 10th race Preferred Pace, Born A Rebel (Betterthancheddar) and driver Stephane Brosseau were able to find clearance from post nine and go to the lead and never looked back, upsetting the field at odds of 13-1 with a one length triumph in 1:57 over Uncontrollable (Francis Picard) with Kiss Me Bad (Steven Gagnon) third.
