Ontario-sired three-year-old pacing colts and geldings visited Grand River Raceway on Friday (Aug. 5) for the fourth harness racing leg of the Prospect Series.
Shadowmoon Rising, a son of Shadow Play, recorded a front-end first-division victory in a lifetime-best 1:54 with Tyler Borth at the lines. Shayne Barrington trains him for Rick Rier, Paul Beberich, and a numbered Ontario company. The gelding is now four-for-22 lifetime with $37,209 in earnings.
Docsphillycheese (Bettarthancheddar) scored his fourth straight in the second division. Garrett Rooney piloted the colt to a half-length victory in 1:55.3, a new career mark. Britt Kennedy trains the colt she co-bred and co-owns with Moneyclip Racing. Docsphillycheese has won six times and brought in $27,495 through 16 career starts.
Buck N Bettor (Bettors Delight) took his second career win as Jason Ryan put him up front in a 1:55 victory. Amanda Fine trains the gelding for Scott and Lisa Henry of Odessa. Buck N Bettor has now started 14 times and has earned $15,139.
