Thunder Alley (Mystery Chase) landed a big strike on his harness racing opponents in the Northside Downs Winners-Over on Saturday (May 25).
The gelding, undefeated on the season, quickly reached the front for John Kennedy and brought the field to the midway point with fractions of :29.1 and 1:01.1. David Lloyd George (Keigan Madden) blinked first from fourth, pulling out on the third turn and traveling first-up down the backstretch.
Thunder Alley stopped his advance at three-quarter in 1:32.1 and held him at arm’s length until taking flight at the top of the lane. The leader thundered down the stretch and extended his margin to five lengths in the 2:01.1 victory.
David Lloyd George held second in a stretch duel with Runaway Mystery (Harold Leblanc), who finished third.
