CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Time To Dance continued to reassemble his string of harness racing dominance as he vanquished his foes in Saturday’s Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Time To Dance in earlier win

Marc Campbell was aggressive from the start with Time To Dance in the $6,000 Ladner Memorial as the driver hustled his trainee to the lead past the 27.3 opening quarter set by Bugsy Maguire (Driven by Brodie MacPhee). Time To Dance set down on the lead and went through splits of 56.3 and 1:26.1 while fighting off the first-over Day Delight (Gilles Barrieau) on a rain soaked track rated two-seconds off.

Time To Dance kicked clear in the stretch drive to win by a length in 1:55.2 with Day Delight second and Mc Pat (Ken Murphy) third. The winning horse recorded his second straight victory and 21st lifetime for owners Brent Campbell of Charlottetown and Matt McDonald of Edwards, Ont.

TIME TO DANCE REPLAY

Cowboy Logic won the evening $2,700 back-up pace in 1:57 with Steven Shepherd at the lines for trainer Kyle Wilkie and Island owners Maurice McCabe, Gerard Ellsworth, Angus Birt and George Burke. Legendary Ron (Barrieau) closed for second with Disneyman (Campbell) finishing the triactor ticket in third.

The fastest trip of the night went to Dustylanegoliath earlier in the evening under dry conditions in a $2,400 conditioned class as the three-year-old son of Steelhead Hanover put together a remarkable 1:53.3 mile as he preps for Atlantic Stakes competition. Barrieau was in the driver’s seat of his trainee for owner Daniel Ross of Belfast.

Total wager was $52,906.

Live racing continues Thursday and Saturday evening at Red Shores Charlottetown and Friday at Red Shores Summerside with 6 P.M. post times for all cards. The Future Stars of Racing go postward on Tuesday evening with a 6 P.M. opening post time in Charlottetown.
