CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Saturday afternoon Preferred Pace has some of the finest pacers on the Eastern Seaboard of Canada during a 13-dash harness racing program starting at 12:30 P.M., at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The $4,500 Preferred Pace headlines the card in race 12 with Bee Two Bee (Sunshine Beach, Jason Hughes) drawing the coveted rail position over the historic half-miler. Ashley Gamester trains the gelding for Island owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan. The pacer has scored four wins this season including back-to-back wins in 1:52.4 over Red Shores Charlottetown in September.
Wind Blown (Mach Three, Ken Murphy) has been on top of his game and draws post 2 in the Preferred Pace for trainer Phil Sizer and owners Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr., of Amherst, N.S. The free-legged sensation was a winner last time out in 1:52.4.
Roll Em (Time To Roll, Marc Campbell) conquered this class last week for trainer Brent Campbell, with the trainer co-owning the 36-time winner with Brady Doyle, Ryan MacLeod and Savage Stable. The six-year-old has been in the top-three in six of his last seven starts and has post 3 Saturday.
Post 4 belongs to Governor’s Plate Champion Twin B Tuffenuff (Rock N Roll Heaven, Gilles Barrieau) from the Ron Matheson stable. Pat Morris holds the ownership papers of the 43-time winning son of Rock N Roll Heaven.
Post 5 starter is Saulsbrook Ian (Betterthancheddar, Corey MacPherson), who was second his last start to Wind Blown. Jamies Smith trains the regally bred gelding for owners Red Oak Stable of Charlottetown. Saulsbrook Ian hails from one of the hottest families in Canadian Harness Racing with his half-brother Saulsbrook Big Dog just topping the London Classic Yearling Sale with a $150,000 price tag.
The Post Time Picks are going with Bee Two Bee to land on top of Saturday’s clash.
“Bee Two Bee has been the best of this group over his last four trips in Charlottetown but soft middle fractions kept him out of the winner’s circle on two occasions. He was a winner from the rail three starts back so he should control his destiny from post one today.”
Race 4 and 11 on the program are Fox Group Racing Events.
