So Much More (Big Jim) tallied her 70th lifetime harness racing victory as she finished her season with another close win in the $36,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday (Dec. 29).
So Much More was fourth to the quarter in :27.1 and came first-over for James MacDonald nearing the half in :55.2. She received no cover, advancing into the breeze and pulling to within a length of leader Dabarndawgswatching (Jody Jamieson) as they turned into the stretch.
So Much More left the pacesetter behind, but Huntress (Sylvain Filion) emerged from the pocket and met her on even terms at the pylons. Tells On A Roll (Travis Cullen) also entered the scene in mid-stretch, and the three went toe-to-toe to the finish. Huntress raised the white flag in the final metres, and So Much More hung on over Tells On A Roll to prevail in 1:51.3.
Tells On A Roll was a neck short. Huntress finished third.
