Treasured Tee (Yankee Glide) won the London Classic Yearling Sale Preferred Trot, the last race of the harness racing meet at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Monday (May 29).
The gelding stormed away on the lead to a three-length advantage in the first quarter for Tyler Moore. Sizzlen Hot Herbie (Natasha Day) moved into striking distance on the final turn, but Treasured Tee reignited and opened back up a two-and-a-half-length gap by the finish as he won in 1:56.4. Sizzlen Hot Herbie finished second. Marvin Hagler (Brett MacDonald) was third.
TREASURED TEE REPLAY
The victory was Treasured Teeās 24th lifetime in 124 starts. His earnings now total $361,451. Francis Guillemette shares ownership with Eric Beausejour and Stephane Geoffory and trains the eight-year-old.
Tyler Borth was a runaway winner in the meet driversā standings. He won 213 races in 975 starts for a win rate of 21.8 per cent. He also collected purses of more than $1 million from the meet. Second was Travis Henry with 109 wins.
Cassidy Schneider took the meet’s trainersā title with 45 victories from 218 starts. Mike Timpano finished second with 37 tallies.
Racing will return to The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Monday, Oct. 2.
