Treasured Tee came away victorious in the Woodbine Mohawk Park $34,000 Preferred Handicap Trot on Monday as he converted a dream trip into a harness racing win.
Doug McNair used the stallionās early speed tactically to work him into the pocket going into the first turn. They then followed favoured leader Zig Zag (Sylvain Filion) through the opening two stations of :27.1 and :56.1, but they didnāt remain there for the third as McNair slid Treasured Tee off the pylons heading into the final turn.
Treasured Tee drew alongside the leader through the bend and slingshotted to the lead as they straightened for home. He left Zig Zag behind quickly and trotted to the finish strongly to score by three and a half lengths in 1:53.1.
Dream Nation (Bob McClure) finished second, and Perfetto (Dagfin Henriksen) took third. The winner paid $13.40.
