Treasured Tee reigned again in the $34,000 Preferred Trot with a wire-to-wire score at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday.
Doug McNair, looking to take both halves of the daily double, hustled Treasured Tee past Memo (Louis-Philippe Roy) to secure an early advantage from post six. Backfield pressure came after first half splits of :28.1 and :56.4 as Perfetto slid out from third at five-eighths and forced an earplug pull from McNair.
Perfetto (Dagfin Henriksen) and pocket-sitter memo chased Treasured Tee going past three-quarters in 1:24.3 and into the stretch. The former two closed down the leader in an all-out drive, but Treasured Tee prevailed in a seasonal best 1:52.4.
Second place finisher Memo and third place finisher Perfetto both finished a half length behind.
