Triple for Riley at Kawartha

Harness racing trainer Tom Riley recorded a third straight card with at least a triple at Kawartha Downs on Friday (Jun. 7).

Coming off a grand slam last week, the conditioner won three on the card. Shadow Warrior (Shadow Play, Jimmy Gagnon) opened Riley’s night account by going last-to-first to win in 1:57.4. Dance Machine (Royal Mattjesty, Samuel Fillion) crushed his opponents to make it back-to-back wins for the trainer in the second. Majestic Virgin (Always A Virgin, Ryan Guy) then completed the triple in the eighth, getting up from the pocket in 1:55.2.

Riley is 31-for-139 overall on the season but has won 11 of his 24 starts at Kawartha. He was also the track’s leading trainer last season.

The next card at Kawartha Downs is set for Friday, Jun. 14.
