Tuscan Prince (Kadabra) turned in a tough harness racing performance to win the Preferred Trot on Saturday (Dec. 28) at Flamboro Downs.
The gelding, starting from the pylons, claimed the three-hole as the field raced into the first turn. Paul Mackenzie pulled him out in front of the stands, sending him after leader Marvin Hagler at the half in :59.1.
Tuscan Prince overpowered that rival as they passed three-quarters in 1:27.4 and stormed clear by three lengths on the final turn. Treasured Tee (Samuel Fillion) reeled him in late, but Tuscan Prince was on cruise control to the finish in 1:58.2.
Treasured Tee finished second with show finisher Twin B Archie (Scott Coulter) two lengths further back.
