Twin B Powerball (Bettors Delight) made a fruitful trip to Flamboro Downs on Wednesday (Oct. 9), taking his third harness racing win of the season.
The four-year-old, dropping in class from his previous starts at Woodbine Mohawk Park, claimed the top from post two and allowed outside attacker Dontpokethedragon (Travis Cullen) to go by as they headed for the quarter in :26.4. Brett MacDonald held Twin B Powerball in the pocket through :55.3 and 1:22.3 middle splits.
Ideal Perception (Anthony Haughan) marched first-over to strike the front entering the final turn and cleared the way for Twin B Powerball, who slid out widest as they swung for home. Ideal Perception battled to the line, but Twin B Powerball sprinted clear on fresh legs to score in 1:53.
He was three-quarters-of-a-length clear of Ideal Perception, who took second over Dontpokethedragon.
TWIN B POWERBALL REPLAY
Twin B Powerball put forth middling performances in October at Woodbine Mohawk Park, prompting a visit to Flamboro enforced by trainer Richard Moreau. The gelding, owned by Gaston Bibeau of Sorel-Tracy and Ecurie Francis Richard of Becancour, is an eight-time winner with $83,595 in earnings through 32 career starts.
Also on the card, Palladium Hanover (Artspeak) made his first start in Ontario and added another dominant win to his prior three-race streak. The two-year-old gelding won his first three outings at Charlottetown before owners Wayne MacRae and Daniel Ross moved him at the end of October.
Flamboro Downs will feature a Fillies and Mares Preferred on its next card, set for Thursday, Nov. 10 with a 6:35 p.m. first post.
