For the second straight week, Untred proved his is the best on the grounds at Woodbine Mohawk Park, once again capturing the $36,000 Preferred Pace Saturday evening.
The third race feature began with a flurry as harness racing driver Sylvain Filion left from post six with Untred, gaining the early lead but not for long. Battling on the outside was Points North and driver Jonathan Drury, taking a slight lead in :28.2 to the opening quarter mile.
They were also being followed second-over by The Greek Freak and driver Chris Christoforou and they cleared to the front and cut the mile to the half in :57.1.
The action again heated up in the backstretch as Points North and Drury pulled the pocket and came after The Greek Freak with Uhtred and Filion following the outside cover from Points North through the three-quarters in 1:25.3.
Filion kept the momentum going with Uhtred as they cleared to the lead and then held on at the wire to win by one length in 1:52.3. Wheels On Fire was second with Beyond Better (Bob McClure) finishing third.
