Veteran pacer American Risk chasing 53rd career win

SUMMERSIDE, PE – The Tuesday harness racing card at Red Shores Summerside Raceway has no shortage of class headlined by a deep $4,300 top condition pace in race 12.

American Risk

The 13-dash card gets underway at 6 P.M.

The eight-year-old son of American Ideal lines up from post 4 in the race 12 feature for trainer George Rennison after a solid third-place finish over the Truro half-miler in 1:55.2 for owner Risky Bizz Group of Truro, N.S. The 52-time winner was victorious in 1:53.2 earlier in the season over his home base at the Truro Raceway in Bible Hill, N.S. Brady Sweet is in the seat for Tuesday’s contest.

His opposition includes Howmac Exclusive (to be driven by Corey MacPherson), who has hit the board in his last five starts for trainer Leslie Waite, and Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy) from post 5, who beat this class two weeks ago.

The field also includes Freemans Legacy (Jaycob Sweet), Howmac Maximus (Paul Langille), and Doc Awesome (Adam Merner) in what should be one of the most evenly matched tilts of the evening.

The Backstretch Beat puts American Risk on top as he looks for lifetime win number 53.
“American Risk is a classy campaigner who has spent most of the year tackling tougher company and finds a softer landing spot here. A proven winner over nearly every Maritime surface, he’s more than capable of wiring this field if he gets to the front early. Expect Brady Sweet to fire him off the wings and try to control the tempo from there.”

Race 11 precedes the feature with a purse of $3,650 for upper-end pacers. Howmac Charmer is the top selection with post 4 for trainer Kyle Williams and catch-driver Adam Merner for owner Doug Williams of Ontario. His top rivals include Louie The Great (MacPherson) and Brokeandoutofgas (Langille).

Catch all the action live at the track or through the Race Day broadcast and player portal at Redshores.ca. Wager online at HPIBet.com.
