Willyorwonthe (Angus Hall) commanded the conditioned co-feature at The Raceway at the Western Fair District for his 56th career harness racing victory on Tuesday (Dec. 3).
Travis Henry put the gas pedal down from post four, sending the gelding to the engine from post four. Willyorwonthe was never headed as he carved out fractions of :28.3, :59.2, and 1:28.3. He grabbed three lengths on the field coming down the backstretch and added to his cushion on the final turn before powering down the stretch to win by two lengths in 1:59.3. Pocket-tripper Heavy Dude E (Samuel Fillion) held on for place over April Duford (Robert Doyle).
WILLYORWONTHE REPLAY
The winner tallied for the fifth time on the season. The Kyle Bossence-trained gelding has earned $494,284 in 247 lifetime starts. Phil Maguire of Arthur owns the 11-year-old.
Crazy World (Control The Moment) captured the co-featured pace, soaring clear after a first-over march. He tipped out when turning for the stands the first time, reeled in pacesetter Full Disclosure (Fillion) through the back half, and took the lead on the final turn. Crazy World then kicked away to a three-and-a-half-length victory in 1:56.3.
La Sun Control (Austin Sorrie) earned the place cheque off the winnerās cover. Dows Up (Daryl Thiessen) completed the triactor.
CRAZY WORLD REPLAY
Wednesdayās win was the eighth of the season for Crazy World but his first since September. Angela Carroll trains the four-year-old for Kathy Cecchin of Arthur. The gelding has earned $120,729 and 17 wins in 40 career outings.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District will resume racing on Friday, Dec. 6 at 5:50 p.m. EST.
