Free-for-all mare Voelz Delight (Bettors Delight) broke the 1:50 barrier for the first time in a Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace harness racing victory at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday (Sep. 16).
She cut the quarter of :26.2 for Sylvain Filion before Western Wish (Louis-Philippe Roy) swooped by in a backstretch brush. The latter led to the half in :55.2 and three-quarters in 1:23.2 but could not hold off the steamrolling Voelz Delight, who kicked clear to win by two-and-a-half lengths in 1:49.3.
Western Wish remained second. Shes Got It All (Travis Cullen) finished third.
The win price was $4.20.
