Warrawee Vital (Captaintreacherous) backed up his Canadian harness racing record performance with a dominant victory and another sub-1:48 time in the $36,000 Free For All at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday (Jun. 24).
The stallion glided to the front under the command of Trevor Henry and has his way through :26.4, :54.2,Ā and 1:21.2 fractions. He separated from pocket-sitter Poseidon Seelster (Bob McClure) down the stretch and cruised to a four-and-a-half-length win in 1:47.3. Poseidon Seelster held onto second narrowly from the late-charging The Greek Freak (James MacDonald). The judges investigated the winner for a pylon violation, but he was judged to have hit the cones rather than go inside of them and was left up.
